Orlando Florida Trip 2017 (apart from Invitational)
Our goal for Florida, apart from the Invitational, was to visit some of our favorite spots. On Saturday night we made sure to get to Celebration to walk the trails around the lakes, see the decorations, and eat at the Columbian restaurant. The location is extremely pet friendly so we let Frye eat out with us. We got the usual, the Mahi Mahi Verdadero. We did try a new appetizer, the Scallops Casinimo, which was amazing. The only thing they didn't have was the blueberry cheesecake.
Another favorite spot is Lake Louisa. We strolled Logan along the roads while waking everyone and then parked at the lake to sit out and enjoy the scenery for about an hour. Frye was laying underneath me so she didn't make it into the picture.
When we arrived Friday morning we did stop at Turkey Lake prior to arriving at the show, thinking we'd prefer it over Lake Louisa, but after getting back to Lake Louisa, we decided that it is more peaceful than Turkey Lake.
Finally, we tried a new place in Celebration when we returned on Tuesday. We ate outside at the Celebration Town Tavern. Both Frye and Logan got to accompany us. There is actually good spacing between tables so it was easy to have both dogs out with us. The view from this patio is also a bit nicer than at the Columbian Restaurant. You can see the big tree and the large Gingerbread House. We had the grouper fingers as an appetizer and split a bison burger. Both were decent. The food wasn't anything special, but still enjoyable. Russ had the cheesecake for dessert and I had the boston crème pie. The desserts are made in house and they were excellent.
We stayed at Thousand Trails Orlando just as last year. I biked Frye around the campground, but we didn't really spend too much time there. We had site B6 which was the same as my parents had last year. It was a nice site, close to things and easy in/out.
